Master of Science in Material Science and Engineering (2018-2020):
After my bachelor's, I decided to pursue my education at the graduate level. So I participated in the Nationwide Entrance Exam for M.Sc. I was ranked 56th in the nationwide entrance exam and got admitted to commence my M.Sc. degree in Material Science and Engineering at the Sharif University of Technology (SUT). To deepen my knowledge in advanced nanomaterials, for my M.Sc. thesis, I work on the Investigation on the synthesis and efficiency of a ZIF-8 nanocomposite for water purification. I have done my project under the supervision of Dr. Abachi.
The laboratory tools/techniques that I have worked with:
Structural and Morphological Analysis
Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FE-SEM)
X-ray Diffraction (XRD)
Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface area analysis
Spectroscopic Techniques
Ultraviolet-Visible Spectroscopy (UV-Vis)
Fourier-transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR)
Photoluminescence (PL) spectra
Knowing Amirhossein Alaghmandfard, Nima Tabatabaei, and Amir Abbas Abedini and teaming up with them to do side projects was one of the most memorable experiences I had. During my Master, I also had the privilege to work with Prof. Shokrgozar. Unfortunately, we couldn't publish a paper based on our results. Still, it was a valuable experience for me, and I found my genuine interest in working on Biomaterials and Nona-materials for Biomedical Applications. After that, I worked under the supervision of Dr. Khachatourian and Dr. Montazerian. All these works led to publications and we've done these works in teams including scientists from all around the world like Prof. Seifalian, Prof. Toprak, Dr. Baino, and Prof. Mauro.
